Riyadh – Mubasher: The GCC Statistical Centre (GCC STAT) is working on a number of joint projects, including issuing a unified statistical report on the GCC population for the year 2020, said the president of the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines for the First GCC Statistical Forum in Riyadh late Monday, Fahad Bin Sulaiman Al Tekhaifi noted that there will be a unified statistical form for the GCC workforce survey to show overall unemployment in the GCC.
We also plan to launch statistical surveys for each country, the top official said.
There is a work scheme for the survey with some data already released, while some data remains a work in progress, Al Tekhaifi noted, adding that this survey will help support developmental projects locally, and across the GCC and globally.
Al Tekhaifi further said that the GCC STAT has already begun issuing data on imports, exports, and the workforce, noting that the next step would be to release statistics on foreign investment.
